Children tile painting activity to help preserve our legacy and heritage
This October marks the 25th anniversary of the House of Lebanon (HOL), a premier cultural center in Los Angeles dedicated to promoting Lebanese culture, heritage, and community engagement.
To celebrate this milestone, the HOL 25th Anniversary Committee is organizing a series of events showcasing Lebanese visual art, music, and film. We are thrilled to feature the creativity of our young community members through a special tile-making project, allowing them to make a lasting artistic contribution at HOL. We encourage all eligible participants to express their unique artistic talents.
Only use bright colors, keeping in mind that your design will ultimately be transferred to a white tile.
You may use a medium of your choosing as long as colors are bright.
6-inch square.
Submit a clear high resolution scan or clear picture of your art using the form below.
All art needs to be submitted by September 5th, 2024.
The artists with the 40 best designs will be invited to the HOL to paint their submitted art onto a tile.
24 tiles will be selected from the 40 tiles and installed by each of the artists on a commemorative bench at the HOL.
The remaining 16 tiles will be given to their respective artists.
The Lebanese culture goes back 9000+ years, influencing Eastern and Western cultures through art, music, industry, commerce, architecture, and more.
Here are suggested themes from our culture:
This project is open to children of Lebanese descent, under the age of 18.
Work submitted past September 5th will not be considered.
